JESUS TEACHES IN HIS HOMETOWN

Jesus went back to nazareth and as usual he went to the synagogue on the Sabbath. When he stood up to read from the Scriptures, he was given the book of Isaiah the prophet. He opened it and read, "The Lord's Spirit has come to me, because he has chosen me to tell good news to the poor. "The Lord has sent me to announce freedom "for prisoners, to give sight to the blind, to free everyone who suffers" Then Jesus said to them "What you have just heard me read has come true today"

LOVE

According to pyschologist, the most basic human need is to love and be loved. There is no power greater than love. It can motivate people to do things for others they wouldn't normally do. Some even give up everything for the sake of the one they love. But if love is such a beautiful thing, so essential to life, why is there so little of it in the world? Why is there so much hate? The answer is simple. True love is more than a sentimental, gusty feeling, Love is a decision, a choice we each must make. The greatest demonstration of love is to give our life for the person we love. God did that. Even before we were born, he demonstrated his great love for us when he gave his only son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins so we could have forgiveness and eternasl life in him. That is what love is it gives, selflessly, even sacrificially. It unconditionally provides for the one that is loved. The kind of love comes only from God, for Gods very being is love. So when men and women rebel against God by setting up their own value system, rejecting the authority of God, they lose the very source of true love, that is God. Away from the source, love becomes temporary rather than lasting, We only need to come and connect with God through his son Jesus Christ. and that love will flow freely in and through our hearts to others.

JESUS HELPS THOSE IN NEED

Jesus went all over Galilee, preaching the good news about God's kingdom. News about him spread all over Syria, and people with every kind of sickness or disease were brought to him. Some of them had a lot demons in them, others were thought to be crazy, and still others could not walk. But Jesus healed them all.

JUDGING OTHERS

"God will be as hard on you as you are on others! He will treat you exactly as you treat them. "You can see the speack in your friend's eye, but you don't notice the log in your own eye. How can you say, "My friend, let me take the speck out of your eye,' when you don't see the log in your own eye? You're nothing but show-offs! First, take the log out of your own eye. Then you can see how to take the speck out of your friends's eye."

WHERE ARE YOUR TREASURES

"Don't store up treasures on earth! Moths and rust can destroy them, and thieves can break in and steal them. Instead, store up your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy them, and thieves cannot break in and steal them. Your heart will always be where your treasure is."

GOD'S BLESSINGS

When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on the side of a mountain and sat down. Jesus' disciples gathered around him, and he taught them: "God blesses those people who depend only on him. "They belong to the kingdom of heaven! "God blesses those people who grieve. "They will find comfort! "God blesses those people who are humble. "The earth will belong to them! "God blesses those people who want to obey him more than to eat or drink. "They will be given what they want! "God blesses those people who are merciful. "They will be treated with mercy! "God blesses those people whose hearts are pure. "They will see him! "God blesses those people who make peace. "They will called his children! "God blesses those people who are treated badly for doing right. "They belong to the kingdom of heaven! "God will bless you when people insult you, mistreat you and tell all kinds of evil lies about you because of me. Be happy and excited! You will have a great reward in heaven."

LOVE WITHOUT LIMIT

"You have heard people say, 'Love your neighbors and hate your enemies.' But I tell you to love your enemies and pray for anyone who mistreats you. Then you will be acting like your Father in heaven. He makes the sun rise on both good and bad people. And he sends rain for the ones who do right and for the ones who do wrong" "Don't condemn others." If you love only those people who love you, will God reward you for that? If you greet only your friends, what's so great about that? But you must always act like your Father in Heaven."
